February 20th - Playing with new ponies!

Today Hannah and her Mum went to visit Fern and Frankie again. They are starting to bring Frankie back into work so that he can be ridden too!

Frankie had a bit in his mouth for the first time in Years!

Hannah and her Mum (Annette) decided that Frankie was being such a good boy that they would try riding him for a very short time to see if he remembered it, looks like he remembered just fine!

Looks like I might have a buddy to ride out with someday!!

February 19th - Nice Day for a hack

Today Hannah and her mum came up to see me again, we had a lovely hack/cycle around the block and I was so well behaved when we came to a farm yard FULL of cows! Hannah was VERY pleased with me as I didn't make a fuss at all!

Now that's just plain LAZY!!!

February 12th - Chilly Hack Out!

This morning was EXTREMELY chilly, but Hannah and her Mum both came to take me out for a hack, we had a nice canter along the grass verge and a little jump over a ditch too!

Wheeeeeee........!

Hopefully the weather will warm up soon, Hannah said she had frozen toes by the time we got home!

January 25th - MORE EXMOORS!

As it was FAR too wet to ride me today, Hannah went to visit a friend and meet two of her Exmoor Ponies.
The two in these photographs are called Fern and Frankie and Hannah may be starting to ride Frankie as well as me (What a Busy body!!!)  I hope she keeps enough carrots to feed the both of us!

Hello???

Right! We're off!

January 19th 2011- Bridlepath Ride

After fiddling about in the field with fancy beads for about an hour, Hannah finally decided to go out for a hack! (About time!)  We went down to the bridlepath in the village and had a nice surprise- they had changed the bolt on the gate to a horse-friendly one!  YAY!

It was a  lovely sunny day and the bridlepath was very pretty! Hannah stopped to take hundreds of photos (586 to be exact!).

We had a couple of nice, bouncy canters along the path until we met two fallen trees, there was no way past or over them, so we had to turn around and go back.  Hopefully the people who look after the bridlepath will remove those horrid trees and turn them into jumps by the next time we go out!

When we got home I had a nice long roll in the mud to finish off a lovely day!
More updates coming soon!

Happy Hacking!

January 19th Rhythm Beads

After reading about 'Rhythm Beads' (also known as horse beads) Hannah decided to make me some and see what I think of them...
There are a number of sites where you can read about them, here is just one:

These are the very first set of beads that Hannah has made.  She chose greens and browns and blues because they are her favourite colours, she also added some gold for sparkly-ness!

Here I am wearing them for the first time ever!

Hannah made two mane clips to go with the necklace too...

Nyaaah-these are my beads, MINE! and I stick my tongue out at you!

Yum, carrot!

Aren't I a handsome boy!

January 15th - Exmoor Pony Society AGM

Today Hannah went to the Exmoor Pony Society's AGM in Brecon.
Apparently much fun was had and she even won a prize with one of her photographs of me!
Afterwards, she went to visit Ruth and look at some of her ponies.

Hannah is now interested in learning more about my lineage and breeding, as well as doing the 'Man versus Horse marathon' to raise funds for the Exmoor Pony Society!

January 6th 2010 - First Ride of the year!

On January 6th, Hannah came up to take me out for the first time since the snow cleared.
We decided to have a nice hack around the quiet roads in the frosty sunshine.
I was feeling rather fizzy and ready to go, until a pheasant jumped out of the hedge and gave both Hannah and I a heart-attack!
We had a nice, long canter along a grass verge and a little jump over a ditch, which I enjoyed VERY much! ( I think Hannah likes going faster and jumping too!)

Hannah was talking about some 'man versus horse' marathon in June of this year that she wants to do-sounds like a lot of work and means I have to go on a diet! -Ooh err!

Happy Hacking Everybody!!!

November 13th 2010 -HUNTING!

Well, as it has been a busy few months, my rider Hannah has some catching-up to do!
So there will be a few back-dated blogs from over the past couple of months so you can all see what we have been up to!
On Saturday November 13th, we hacked down to Pantsaeson for the Hunt, it was a beautiful place to spend the day and we had several hours of fun!  The best bit was definitely when I decided that I wasn't going to stop and hang around with the other horses, but carry on at full gallop onward into the next field!  Hannah was very embarassed, but I loved it! Hee hee!
I was a VERY muddy boy when hannah Arrived to get ready for the hunt, just to make her work that little bit harder!

This was after I raced off in front of everyone, Hannah made me stay at the back for the rest of the afternoon to stop me doing it again!

HOUNDS!!!
This lane was part of the bridlepath that we hunted along- it was so pretty!

After 6 hours in the saddle, Hannah and I finally got home to a nice warm bath and some snacks before I was let out to have a nice roll in my field and munch on some grass!

What a fun day we had!  When can we go again???
